Corrs
& Cranberries make up...
As the world's top pop stars prepare to fight it out
at the MTV Awards here in Frankfurt, we can reveal
that rivals THE CORRS and CRANBERRIES have finally
ended their bitter feud.
The
pop stars, who have both been snubbed from the nominations
for tomorrow's bash in Frankfurt, have been locked
in a war of words for six months after Cranberries
star DOLORES O'RIORDAN attacked the Corrs in an interview.
Tempers
flared when Dolores bumped into guitarist JIM CORR
at a night-club in Dublin and confronted her about
her remarks. But now the groups have called a truce
after Dolores and ANDREA CORR met backstage at a concert
and patched up their differences.
Dolores,
30, told me: "I have to say that I met Andrea Corr
back stage at a concert and she was absolutely lovely.
She was with her dad and everything was cool between
us. The argument initially started because I said
in an interview that I wasn't a big fan of the Corrs.
Yes, Jim and I had a bit of a run in at a night club
but it was because we were both a bit drunk. He said
that he had heard about my comments and was hurt by
them. But I've met Andrea and I actually admire what
the Corrs have done. I want to be quoted that everything
is fine and it's all sorted out."
Sources
close to the bands say both the Corrs and Cranberries
are breathing a heavy sigh of relief. "It wasn't good
for either of them to be waging a war of words against
each other," an insider said. "They are both in the
process of promoting new albums and it doesn't look
good if they end up spending more time talking about
each other than their own work. Andrea and Dolores
got on very well and there was no tension or bitterness
between them. I don't think they'll be lining up to
do a duet together but it's fair to say that the war
is over."
BRYAN
McFADDEN has decided that he is getting married at
Slane after all - and now he's hired a magician to
entertain guests on the big day. The star furiously
denied reports he was to tie the knot at the famous
venue recently, but just like magic he changed his
mind a few days later admitting he was trying to protect
the privacy of the big day.
The singer has hired local magician Keith Barry for
the January 5 wedding and splashed out on the same
security guards as Posh Spice Victoria Beckham used
for her wedding to David. Lets just hope that they
turn up at the right venue!
RONAN
KEATING better not get in the way of LIMP BIZKIT hard
man FRED DURST at tomorrow night's bash. The motor
mouth lead singer warned: "I can't stand male pop
singers - they are all the same. If any of them get
in my way I'll probably knock them out. They should
all be ashamed of themselves."
Looks
like Fred could have his hands fill tonight if he
is forced to share the back stage area with the likes
of Ronan, TRAVIS and CRAIG DAVID.
WESTLIFE
star KIAN EGAN can't hold down a serious relationship
because girls can't handle his fame: "They just don't
understand that girls are going to try and come on
to me at night-clubs because of the Westlife thing.
They say they love me and then complain because of
my job - it's an impossible situation sometimes. It's
hard to hold down a serious relationship at the minute."
EMMA
LEDDEN admits her biggest downfall is that she can't
stand working out - even though she is a member of
four top London gyms. The TV beauty told me: "I have
been trying for ages to get motivated to start keeping
fit and I just can't do it. I gave up smoking a while
ago and I vowed to start going to the gym a couple
of times a week. I have membership at four different
places and I never go. It's terrible."
