Apology to Patrick Kielty & Amanda Byram...

On our ShowBiz Ireland news web site (20 November 2001) we published defamatory allegations regarding the conduct of Patrick Kielty and Amanda Byram at a Dublin bar.

In particular we had wrongly alleged that they had behaved in an abusive, inappropriate and threatening manner.

We now unreservedly accept that our allegations were completely untrue and we very much regret having attributed these false statements to them in the first place.

We apologise sincerely to the couple for the upset and embarrassment caused to them as a result of the publication of these defamatory statements, which we have undertaken not to repeat.

We have also agreed to their request that we make a payment to Concern Afghanistan Appeal.
