Crowe
Crosses the Globe for Harris...
Australian actor Russell Crowe literally crossed
the globe to pay tribute to his fellow Gladiator
Star, the late Richard Harris, at his wake
in London.
In
his tribute Crowe reiterated the Patrick Kavanagh
poem which got cut from his controversial BAFTA
speech in February by a BBC director .
According
to reports Crowe, who traveled 5,500 miles from Mexico
to be there, raised a pint of Guinness in the London's
Goring Hotel - where Harris' friends and family were
gathered - and recited Sanctity:
Richard
Harris' funeral was held at Thomas Moore Catholic
church in Chelsea. His sons Damian, Jamie and
Jared also paid their own tributes at the wake.
Harris
with ex-wife and granddaughter, at his 70th Birthday
Before his death from Hodgkin's Disease at the age
of 72, Harris wrote of Crowe:
"Top
bloke, loves his rugby, doesn't give a stuff, brilliant
actor, a much loved new friend. He will carry the
baton on."
