America Nearly Broke Westlife...

Westlife, who launched their Greatest Hits album in Dublin at the weekend, revealed that the band nearly broke-up while trying to break America.

For many Irish and UK bands America is the Holy Grail in terms of success, many go there searching but usually return with their tails between their legs. It seems Westlife are no different.

In an interview with the News of the World Nicky Byrne said:

"There was never a row between the five of us but we felt at the time that we couldn't go on because of how badly things had been organised around us."

He went on, "Bryan freaked out. He really lost the plot and said he just had to go home and he couldn't deal with it and that's it. We booked a flight for Bryan and we just wished him the best."

Mark Feehily said: "We were in America and we should have been enjoying it, but we weren't so something had to be wrong. When we got back we really had to sit down with the record company to tell them to start treating us like human beings or they'd lose the band and we'd split up."

Mark finished off by saying: "But we didn't want that. America did nearly break us."
