The Thin White Duke David Bowie's place of residence was the worst kept secret in Dublin over the weekend ahead of his sellout concerts, but he looked delighted with all the attention.

When ShowBiz Ireland's photographers got the tip off that David Bowie was staying in U2's Clarence Hotel we hot-footed it down there to catch a glimpse of the star as we had been refused photographer access to his show.

We thought we were one step ahead-of-the-game but when we arrived at the back door of the celebrity hotel we were greeted by hundreds of fans that had gathered to see their idol.

When Bowie emerged from the back door, dressed in a baseball cap and dark glasses, he looked overjoyed as his loyal army of fans cheered.

Good old David showed no sign of Diva behaviour and posed for photos as he smiled and greeted fans.
