Stars Turn Out for IFTAs...

The World's media was firmly focused on Dublin at the weekend as tons of celebrities put on their glad-rags for the Irish Film and Television Awards...

IFTAs: GABRIEL BYRNE & PIERCE BROSNAN

Both homegrown and international celebrities from stage and screen gathered in the Burlington Hotel on Saturday night for the most anticipated night of the Irish ShowBiz calendar - the Irish Film and Television Awards.

It may only be in its second year but the fledgling IFTA ceremony has the packing power to attract top celebrities from across the globe.

IFTAs: ANDIE MACDOWELL & OLIVA WILLIAMS

This year we saw some top Irish names such as Pierce Brosnan, Gabriel Byrne, Brendan Gleeson, Alison Doody and Keith Duffy rubbing shoulders with the likes of Andie MacDowell, Olivia Williams and John Cleese.

Their was also a glut of budding Irish stars such as Allen Leech, Amy Shiels and Eva Birthistle sharing the red carpet with local celebs such as Caroline Morahan, Pamela Flood, Derek Mooney, Hector O'hEoghagain, Miriam O'Callaghan, Grainne Seoige, Claire Byrne and Ardal O'Hanlon to name but a few...

Award winners on the night included Maureen O'Hara (Lifetime Achievement), Pierce Brosnan (Contribution to Irish cinema), Eva Birthistle (Best Actress), Gerard McSorley (Best Actor), Song For A Raggy Boy (Best Irish Film).
