Bags
of Stars in Dublin...
Never mind Hollywood, Dublin is the new hotbed for
celebrity sightings! In fact we have so many different
celebs on our streets at the moment we decided to
combine a selection of them into one story...
ANDIE MCDOWELL: TARA ROAD
|
When
we launched ShowBiz Ireland five years ago
most people thought that the words "ShowBiz"
and "Ireland" didn't belong in the same
sentence.
STEPHEN REA: TARA ROAD
|
Since
then we have seen so many celebrities on these pages
that to even try to start naming names would make
your head spin... This last week alone we have had
homegrown and international stars such as Andie
McDowell, Stephen Rea, Gabriel Byrne, Rev. Jessie
Jackson, Roger Moore, Gabrielle and many more
all vying for column inches...
REV. JESSIE JACKSON: UCD
|
First
off we caught up with screen legends Andie McDowell
and Stephen Rea as the shot scenes from the Maeve
Binchy adapted novel Tara Road in the city
centre. Andie looked stunning even if she was still
in sweat pants having come on set directly from a
Yoga class.
ROGER MOORE & WIFE
|
Two
even bigger legends from different ends of the spectrum,
007 Roger Moore and US civil rights leader
Rev. Jessie Jackson, both received honourary
fellowships from the UCD Literary & Historical
Society. Could Jessie be the first black American
president? If not we're sure Roger would be up for
the job!
GABRIEL BYRNE: TROCADEO
|
We
also spotted actor Gabriel Byrne leaving Trocadeo
restaurant with who we think is his agent Terri
Hayden? For a minute there we thought we might
have an exclusive on Gab's new love but it looks like
the meal may have been business not pleasure...
GABRIELLE CONCERT
|
And
let's not forget the sellout Gabrielle concert which
had them standing on their chairs in the Olympia
theatre. By the looks of things this UK singer
is as popular as ever on these shores even if she
hasn't been threatening the No. 1 spot lately.
So
with this bunch plus all of the other celebs out-and-about
recently you have to agree that Dublin is up there
with the best of 'em when it comes to ShowBiz?
