IFTA 2005 Glamour Shines...

Red carpet events in Ireland over the years have been very hit-and-miss in terms of fashion and glamour but we're glad to say that the IFTAs at the weekend illustrated that we can put on an awards show that can shine as bright as The Oscars...

The Irish Film and Television Awards moved into it's third year as Ireland's biggest annual awards ceremony, this time at The RDS.

ROSANNA DAVISON @ THE IFTAs

This year saw celebrities really battling hard to get the spotlight on the Red Carpet with the likes of Andrea Corr, Caprice, Rosanna Davison, Mischa Barton, Andrea Roche, Eva Birthistle, Glenda Gilson and many more getting top marks.

MISCHA BARTON @ THE IFTAs

With many of the slim beauties going for backless low cut sparkly gowns, most people agreed that Andrea Corr was most tastefully dressed wearing a classic shoulderless pink lace dress cut just below the knee.

CAPRICE @ THE IFTAs

Winners from the Jury categories on the night included Pavee Lackeen for Best Film and Liam Neeson for Best Actor in Kinsey.

ANDREA ROCHE & GLENDA GILSON @ THE IFTAs

Winners from the world of television included Pure Mule, which scooped a host of Awards including Best Actor for Tom Murphy, Best Actress for Dawn Bradfield and both supporting categories for Gary Lydon and Eileen Walsh.

LIBERTY X @ THE IFTAs

Actor David Kelly was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award and was presented the Award by Colm Meaney, who starred alongside him in Into the West.

VANESSA REDGRAVE @ THE IFTAs

The OC star Mischa Barton took to the red carpet along with a host of Irish and international style icons...

EVA BIRTHISTLE @ THE IFTAs

Veteran actresses and timelessly glamorous Sinead Cusack and Oscar award winning actress Vanessa Redgrave looked fabulous along side the younger set.

TATIANNA OULIANKINA @ THE IFTAs
