REM going home to Georgia...

REM's lead singer Michael Stipe has told sources close to ShowBizIreland.com that the band are only two weeks away from the end of their album. The band who have been in Ireland for the past five weeks recording their new album will be finished in Ireland and will then return to Georgia in the USA to tidy up the finished product.

Stipe who is here with bassist Mike Mills has been working with the band's Irish producer to make the album but the news the album is nearly finished will come as good news for all REM fans.

It's hasn't however been a quiet time for the band during their visit to Ireland. While the band have been staying in Dalkey, in the outskirts of Dublin near where U2 live. They have not been staying there...

Most nights Mike Mills and sometimes Stipe have been hitting the tiles in some of Dublin's top night-spots much to the approval of their Irish fans.
