Harris pushed in to Potter role...

Irish screen legend Richard Harris has revealed that he has to be forced to take the role in the new Harry Potter film which gave him the biggest pay packet of his career.

"I never read the books, but have a lot of respect for the author JK Rowling. All I knew is that they kept offering me the role. And the more I turned them down the more money they offered me."

Harris plays Professor Dumbledore, headmaster of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

"It was my grand daughter Ella who changed my mind. She said Papa I hear you are not doing the Harry Potter movie. She then said if I do not play Dumbledore I will never speak to you again. So I said I would do the movie."

Harris was speaking about the $80 million dollar Potter movie at the launch of his latest film My Kingdom which he plays King Lear during the Toronto Film Festival.
