Jordan Lands Me And My Monster...

Irish film director and Dalkey resident Neil Jordan has just about landed the double honour of rewriting and directing a bid budget Hollywood movie Me and My Monster for Columbia Pictures.

Sligo born director Neil Jordan has directed some of recent movie history greats including The Company of Wolves (1984), The Crying Game (1992), Interview with the Vampire (1994), and The Butcher Boy (1997).

But in more recent years it could be said that he has drifted away from producing anything really memorable.

Now according to the Hollywood Reporter Jordan is in talks to rewrite and direct Me and My Monster a project being produced by Aliens special effects supremo Stan Winston.

The plot of the movie revolves around a young boy who has a friendship with an extraordinary creature that changes the course of his life as he becomes an adult.

Jordan is currently directing a unnamed thriller that is due for release in 2004.
