Help Sheridan keep Section 481...

Irish director Jim Sheridan has joined the nationwide outrage at the Government's scrapping of tax break Section 481 which attracts Hollywood filmmakers to make their movies here.

Section 481 Tax relief has been the mainstay of the Irish film industry and has attracted recent big budget movies here like Laws of Attraction, King Arthur, Reign of Fire, and many more.

If the government and Charlie McCreevey in particular go ahead with their plan and scrap the incentive in the budget this December we will see the ShowBiz being taken out of ShowBiz Ireland...

Jim Sheridan told the press recently: "It's an awful idea. I think it will make it very difficult for people in the industry to continue to work here. It would certainly force me to film elsewhere."

He went on: "Other countries have followed our example and now we're talking about scrapping it?"
