ZOO:
The Next BIG THING?
Last night saw the much anticipated official launch
into Pop society of Irish Boyband ZOO with
their debut single WANTED at Wrights Bar
in Swords...
ZOO: (L-R) BARRY COSGRAVE, GREG RYAN, MICHAEL
SAMMON, DAVID KANESWARREN & ERIC MCCARTHY
|
The
number 13 may be unlucky for some but fingers-crossed
the launch of ZOO on Wednesday the 13th of October
2004 will be a date to remember for the legions of
fans they are sure to amass across the globe...
ZOO @ WRIGHTS
|
For
there hasn't been as much rumblings-from-the-lab since
a little known debutante Samantha Mumba first
stepped out for the Irish media a few years back.
ZOO @ WRIGHTS
|
Take
it straight from the horse's mouth if you like - Louis
Walsh, the manager of such acts as Boyzone,
Ronan Keating, Westlife and the aforementioned
Samantha Mumba, said ZOO are "the only Irish
Boyband with any chance." Not bad coming from
a judge off X Factor?
ZOO & THEIR MANAGEMENT @ WRIGHTS
|
And
going on their performance in Michael Wright's
Bar "Wrights" in Swords last night,
infront of the fabulous and famous, these guys have
the talent, the attitude, the looks and moves to get
them to the top and keep them there...
ZOO LAUNCH: VALERIE ROE & MICHAEL WRIGHT
|
Already
they have accumulated a loyal fan base having cut-their-teeth
as support act for Westlife on the Irish leg of their
Turnaround Tour and played alongside Blue,
Girls Aloud, and Brian McFadden at O2
In The Park.
ZOO LAUNCH: HAZEL & GAIL KANESWARREN
|
And
their claims-to-fame don't stop there as David
Kaneswarren from the band is the younger brother
of Hazel, from the Popstars TV show,
and Gail, one of Ireland's top models, who
where amongst the celebrities at Wrights last night.
ZOO LAUNCH: RAY HEFFERNAN
|
Also
at the launch of this fledgling Pop band last night
was Dublin songwriter Ray Heffernan who is
best known for saving the career of a fledgling solo
artist called Robbie Williams with his song
Angels... A song he has never really got credit
for?
ZOO
are signed to Michael Wright's label Wright records
and are managed by the best looking management team
your are likely to meet Valerie Roe and Elaine
Roddy from Ro-Ro Management.
It's
been a while since ShowBiz Ireland has fully
backed an Irish rising star (not since Colin
Farrell or Samantha Mumba) but we fully
endorse ZOO's quirky mix of R&B, Rock and Retro sound
plus we really like this bunch handsome lads. They're
sound!
So
expect too see a lot more of ZOO on these pages in
the coming weeks and months as we track their speedy
rise into ShowBiz.
And
in the meantime if you want to get more info on the
band and hear samples of their sound get over to the
official website www.zoo.ie
now!
