Two fine guitarists and superb all-round musicians from opposite-ends-of-the-spectrum Steve Vai and KT Tunstall both filled venues in Dublin this week...

Dublin sure is a diverse place when it comes entertainment - this week you could have rocked-out with Electric Guitar supremo Steve Vai or chilled out to the mellow vibes of Scottish youngster KT Tunstall.

Anyone familiar with the mid 80s Heavy Metal era of over-the-top guitar riffs and even bigger hairstyles will no doubt remember the nimble fingers of Steve Vai.

Having made beautiful guitar music with a who's-who from that time such as Frank Zappa, David Lee Roth, Alice Cooper and Ozzy Osbourne - it was easy to see Vai's exquisite caliber and renowned vitality on stage in Vicar Street this week. Hey, playing a six-string guitar with your tongue is no mean feat!

Also on-the-scene this week was Scottish newcomer KT Tunstall who brought her unique and fresh sound to the Olympia Theatre.
