Manolo Opens Brown Thomas Store...
Oooo dear. A Mecca for those strappy spiky torture devices women wear on their feet has opened in Dublin. For those men out there unaware of who or what a 'Manolo Blahnik' is - put it like this... Women scream at the mere hint of his name and would sell any one of their children to get their hands on his shoes. Seriously. We aint kidding...

As if to hold two fingers up to the looming recession and very apparent credit crunch, super-duper expensive shoe designer Manolo Blahnik opened up a very plush store in Brown Thomas on Grafton Street today. Be afraid lads, be very afraid.

Normally we wouldn't really give-a-poop about those 18 inch stiletto heeled painful things that women fret so much about. But when you consider that Manolo's creations took centre stage in probably every single episode of 'Sex and the City' – you realize he's a pretty big deal. Well, at least to the opposite sex.

The internationally acclaimed female footwear producer launched his exclusive new boutique in Brown Thomas today... Fellas, go into your wallet now and cut up ANY plastic you find in there... Women are not responsible beings when it comes to these shoes, so you only have yourselves to blame if you get cleaned-out.

Two of our favourite Dublin based models (proper models) Irma Mali & Semina Zia, showcased Mr. Blahnik's creations at BT's today. We're told Irma wore a YSL black & white print dress while Semina wore a Versace yellow dress. Okaaay. We have no idea what that means. But the ladies reading will be nodding with approval.

Also on hand today at the store was former model now Xpose presenter Glenda Gilson. Of course ‘The Glenda’ looked great with a mic in her hand but we miss the days when she would have been there alongside Irma & Semina strutting-her-stuff... She's all grown up now and got a proper job.

With our banks crashing, stock markets hanging on by a thread, and government bail-outs going on all over the place - the last thing the Irish economy needs is a shoe store which GUARANTEES our fair ladies will blow away ANY money they can get their hands on. Oh well, go out with a bang girls!
