Patrick Bergin embarks on a singing career...

Irish actor Patrick Bergin last night exclusively revealed to ShowBizIreland.com that he was to launch a professional singing career. The Dublin actor who stared alongside Julia Roberts in the Hollywood blockbuster Sleeping with the Enemy is in the process of making a Caribbean style album which is to be released next year.

Entitled "Rent a tile" the actor explained that singing was his passion and Rent a tile is the Caribbean saying for a slow romantic dance.

"Singing has always been my passion. Not, my love it's actually a passion. I used to busk as a young man with my guitar. Now, I've found a love for Caribbean music and spent a lot of time there" said Bergin.

"The album is called Rent a tile which is what they people of the Caribbean say when they are slow dancing in the disco. It's not finished yet but the single is already being played in the Caribbean."

"Another one of my songs is being used in a film I have just finished in Nashville. The song is called If you ever see Jesus again and I wrote and performed it."
