Bono delivers condolences to Paula's children...

Bono and his wife Ali Hewson have issued a press release after the untimely death of Bob Geldof's ex-wife was found dead on Sunday in her home in London. Paula Yates died due to a suspected drug overdose. She never got over the death of her ex-boyfriend INXS frontman Michael Hutchence and father to their daughter, Tiger Lilly.

"Our first thoughts are for the four girls. Its their tragedy more than anyone's. We know Bob [Geldof] is a great dad. They are a strong family, but still our heart breaks," said Bono and Ali in a statement issued to the press.

Bono and Ali were good friends of Paula's ex-husband Bob Geldof. They were also great friends of Michael and Paula. Paula Yates and Michael Hutchence were so close to both Bono and Ali that they asked Bono to be godfather to their baby Tiger Lilly, who is now four years old. Bono turned down the request to spare his very good mate Bob Geldof's feelings.

Michael and Bob didn't like one another, but they shared a common friend in Bono. Michael Hutchence's father has allowed Bob Geldof to have temporary custody of Tiger Lilly.
