Celebs
turn out for Dylan in Dublin...
Never let it be said that the Irish don't know how
to enjoy themselves. At last Wednesday's private
Bob Dylan concert in Vicar Street in Dublin
for 1,000 VIP's it didn't seem to bother anyone that
at Bob's after show party everyone who was anyone
was there. Well, except Bob Dylan that is. The cream
of Ireland's rock and roll industry went and drank.
The fact that Bob was tucked up in his suite at the
Merrion hotel half an hour after the show had ended
didn't bother the array of stars who drank into the
early hours.
The
party was held next door to Vicar Street in a building
site which Harry Crosbie claimed was the new
cool. And it has to be said Bono and Ali
looked fine without their normal luxury surroundings.
The Edge, Gavin Friday were too busy talking
to Elvis Costello to notice Adam Clayton
(on his own) floating around.
Christy
Moore made the show but failed to make the party.
Where as REM where still partying until the
early hours in Lillies with music legend Dave
Fanning. Gerry Ryan chatted to the Manager
of the Gaiety Theatre John Costigan. Film Producer
Noel Pearson was no where to be seen at the party
but Ireland's answer to David Beckham and Leoardo
DiCaprio, Robbie Wooton and actor Liam
Cunninham did the rounds alongside concert promoters
Dennis Desmond, Jim Aiken and Peter
Aiken.
Riverdance's
John McColgan chatted beside Alison Doody
and Paul Brady. While Desmond Guinness
and his wife Pamela no doubt wondered where
Ronnie Wood had gone. Rolling Stone
Ron had appeared but then disappeared home early.
Rumours were that the star had to go home early to
his wife Jo or their would be trouble.
Missing the show but turning up for the party after
the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards
were Dennis O'Brian and Eddie Jordan where
Eddie had just won.
