Oasis
brothers mourn Irish Grandmother...
Oasis brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher
have been dealt a heavy blow that will no doubt put
their recent troubles of marriage breakups and rowing
into perspective. The boy's beloved Irish Grandmother,
Margaret Sweeney, passed in her sleep in her
Charlstown home Co. Mayo where the boys holidayed
with their mother Peggy as children.
The
brothers had already vowed to attend her 80th birthday
bash organised by the family for October 20. Noel
recently recalled about his childhood visits to his
Gran's: "We used to go out in the country picking
blackberries to make jam. We loved getting up in the
morning and chasing cows. It was ace."
John Finan, a local publican and grocer in
Charlestown, said: ''Margaret didn't really follow
their music she was a bit old for it but she was very
proud of them. She was concerned about the fame and
whether they could handle their success. She was very
well liked in the town and had lots of friends. She
had been a little unwell towards the end of her life
but remained independent, and it was still a shock
when we heard that she'd died."
The
Oasis boys are expected to travel to Mayo to attend
the funeral and wake with scores of local friends.
