Blanchett visits Guerin's news desk...

ShowBizIreland.com landed on it's feet again yesterday when another Hollywood star landed on our doorstep. Oscar nominee Cate Blanchett arrived into the offices of the late Veronica Guerin who she will portray in a movie about her murder.

The offices of the Sunday Independent was the location where one of or reporters just happened to be sitting at his desk.

Blanchett made the visit to meet newspaper staff ahead of the filming of her next movie, Chasing the Dragon: the Veronica Guerin Story, with the world famous producer Jerry Bruckenheimer.

In the film the actress will play the murdered Sunday Independent journalist Veronica Guerin who died in 1996.

Blanchett, won her Oscar nomination for her role in Elizabeth - a movie she made in 1998.
