Love Really Hurts for John...

It may have been the split of the summer but for the actor John Hurt and his former girlfriend of Sarah Owens things seem to have calmed down a little.

Last Saturday night the couple enjoyed romantic dinner together in Shanahans on the Green, Dublin's most expensive restaurant.

Hidden away at the back of the main dinning room Sarah, dressed in black from head to toe, looked far from cheery as she and John discussed things that even ShowbizIreland.com will not spill the beans on.

Well, not until the next paragraph anyway...

Leaving just before the midnight the couple made their way out of Shanahans after exchanging pleasantries with the actress Victoria Smurfit and her husband who were also enjoying dinner at the next table.

Speaking recently Sarah said of the split, "assumptions have been made in the media about things that myself and John haven't even discussed yet. It's all very private, really. At the moment I'm doing my own thing - happily mowing my lawn and taking photographs. But I'd like to say we have a lot of respect for each other."

Discussions in Shanahans may have been over John's plans to move back to London and sell their home in Roundwood as well as give up his lease on a magnificent penthouse apartment on D'Olier Street.

The actor has been married three times, and has two sons, Alexander and Nicholas, by his last wife. The mother of those boys since married Darragh Owens, who happens to be Sarah's brother!
