Is
John Really That Hurt?
John Hurt must be really hurt after he missed
the birthday party of his ex-girlfriend Sarah Owens
in L'Ecrivan on Baggot Street last Saturday
week.
The 62-year-old actor has moved back to London since
his split with Sarah during the summer and was rehearsing
for his new show which opened last Thursday night.
It
looks like Sarah has however moved on.
She was brought out by a group of girlfriends to dinner
where they were joined for drinks by the young actor
Cary Elwes, star of such movies as The Princess
Bride, Liar Liar and Kiss the girls.
Maybe Sarah is shopping for a younger model?
Back in London John took to the stage to Gielgud Theatre
in a production of "After play" which was produced
by the director of the Gate Theatre Michael Colgan
and written by Brian Friel.
Among
the group of Irish friends who made the trip over
to see the opening night were Gerry and Moira
Ryan and Riverdance's Moya Doherty
and John McColgan.
This
week has been a busy one for Brian Friel in London
as on Tuesday night his play "Uncle Vanya"
opened in the West-end with the Oscar winning
director Sam Mendes as the artistic director.
Mendes,
who made American Beauty was in London with
the double Oscar winner Tom Hanks who was in
to promote their new movie The Road to Perdition
which stars Hanks and Paul Newman.
