Butler Joins Lara Croft Cast...

Scottish actor Gerard Butler who stared in the Irish film Reign of Fire is to star with the Oscar-winner Angelina Jolie in her new Lara Croft movie.

She is set for a "wildly ambitious journey" as Lara in the sequel to the first movie.

Shooting on the Paramount Pictures' film Lara Croft And The Cradle of Life: Tomb Raider 2 began recently on the Greek Island of Santorini.

The film, directed by Jan De Bont, will open in the States on July 25, 2003.

Producer Lloyd Levin says: "We're raising the stakes significantly with the sequel, telling an edgier, more dangerous and exciting tale. Lara is taking us on a wildly ambitious journey this time and I'm especially looking forward to watching Angelina rise to the challenge."

The film also stars Djimon Hounsou and Christopher Barrie.
