Stardust Begins Filming in Dublin...

A number of well known faces from the small and big screen in Ireland have been lined up to take parts in a movie depicting the tragic Stardust Disco fire of 1981 - shooting began yesterday...

If you were to mention the Stardust fire to anyone from Dublin today they are most likely to have a story about a friend or relative who was at that Valentines Day Disco were 48 people died back in 1981.

ShowBiz Ireland caught up with with a few members from the cast yesterday, namely George McMahon (Mondo from Fair City), Ruaidhri Conroy (Tito from Into the West) and Ger Ryan (Maggie from The Van) on the first day of filming at a Butcher's Shop in North Dublin.

To date there hasn't been much press coverage or information leaked to the media about this project. We assume that US producer Norman Siderow and other parties related to this movie want to keep filming low-key because of the subject matter?

So we have absolutely no idea about the plot other than it's about the controversial Stardust Disco fire, which saw 48 young people die after a fire broke out in the Artane club leaving the panicked crowd trapped inside mainly because emergency exits were locked.
