The Stranger Than Fiction documentary film festival ended with on a high note at the weekend when the talents of our emerging film directors were put on show in the IFI. An emotive movie called 'Walking Dreams' won the audience's approval and took away the most popular award during the marathon screening session in Temple Bar on Sunday.

Evan's short features his girlfriend Sophie Leniston (from UK girlband 'City Girls') performing as a lone dancing ballerina going through the range of elegant yet physically difficult ballet moves illustrated with a choppy mixture of wide and ultra tight camera angles.

Over the exquisitely beautiful images of the dancer performing on screen, there is the stark voice of Evan's mother Ursula Barry narrating her life since waking-up one morning without the use of her legs due to cancer in her spine. A very brave and contrasting piece work by the 21 year old director, bravo to all concerned.
