Pat
Kenny to chat-up our Brian...
The day a Gay Irish air steward draws a bigger crowd
in Eason's than David Beckham must not be looked
on lightly. So when the winner of Big Brother
Brian Dowling refused to talk to the press
when he rode into town on this day last week for the
signing of the Big Brother 2 book on O'Connell
Street we should have guessed something else was on
the horizon.
The
reason by the way that you did not see any interviews
with Brian on TV or hear any sound bites from the
King of Queens on the radio was the due to himself
(with the help of his agent in London) selling the
exclusive rights of "Brian's story" to Hello
magazine.
Another reason may be the King of RTE has
got the rights to Brian's first Irish TV interview
for the Late Late show's return on September 7th.
The
bigger news however comes from Brian's hometown of
Rathangan in Co Kildare otherwise known as "Briantown"
thesedays.
Kildare's
premier councilor and youngest by the way, Fiona
O'Loughlin has confirmed that a Civic Reception
is definitely being planned for Brian's return and
will be held in October.
Speaking
exclusively to ShowBizIreland.com she said,
"I am now very confident that Brian will get a Civic
reception from the Kildare County Council. Our first
meeting is not until the end of September so I felt
that the reception will go ahead some time in October.
We are looking at a party in his home in Rathangan
and a formal reception in St Mary's, the Civic Offices
in Naas. As there has been a lot of support for Brian
throughout the whole of Kildare."
Sadly, one guest who won't be able to make the party
is Brian's ex boyfriend a hairdresser from Peter Mark
on Grafton Street who has jetted off to Australia.
