Byrne is on loyalist hit list according to reports
from Belfast. The actor is one of a list of Irish
& Americans on the list for having republican
sympathies.

who stared in Millers Crossing and The Usual
Suspects is said to be shocked by the reports.
He told the press, "My interest in politics is purely
nonpartisan. I have always been a supporter of peace
in the North of Ireland. My concerns are above politics
and above separatism. I have no interest in supporting
any group that is not about peace. I don't have any
allegiance to the IRA or Sinn Fein per se. If I'd
been an active supporter of the IRA or something I
might be more concerned."
