Neeson
is a Head Above the Rest...
Filming for his role as a submarine captain in thriller
K-19: The Widowmaker was not without hazards
for Irish movie star Liam
Neeson.
The
6ft 4in actor had trouble adapting to the low submarine
ceilings.
He
tells America's People magazine: "The first few
weeks I did a real good head bang five times a day."
And Neeson, 50, has reason to worry about his head
- two years ago he had a near fatal collision with
a deer while riding his motorbike in New York State.
He
says: "My biggest worry was that my head wasn't
going to be OK. I was so happy that I was alive."
But
Neeson needed metal pins inserted into his broken
pelvis and shattered heel. "If you saw my X-rays
inside I look like Herman Munster," he
joked. "I can barely get through an airport.
They want to interrogate me because I set off every
single alarm."
K-19: The Widowmaker, which also stars Harrison
Ford, opens in the UK and Ireland in September.
