Farrell's rough ride in Hollywood...

ShowBizIreland.com's favourite Irish actor COLIN FARRELL, who is fast becoming a star in the States through his role in Tigerland, is finding Hollywood life tougher than he imagined. He was put through cowboy boot camp where he was taught to ride a horse and shoot for one of his recent roles as Jesse James in American Outlaws.

"I couldn't walk for about a week," says Farrell. "I looked like I had rickets, I was so sore."

In the film the James gang goes on a robbing spree to collect enough money to stop the railroad barons from taking over their families' land. "This is probably more fun than if we were doing the real Jesse James," he says. "It's pretty light - there's a bit of action, a bit of romance and all of that. It should be a big summer popcorn movie," Farrell said.

Colin in currently filming the starring role in Joel Schumacher's Phone Booth.
