Farrell gets Swatted by LL Cool J...

Irish hunk Colin Farrell will be joined by rapper LL Cool J in the cast of crime drama S.W.A.T, which The West Wing director Clark Johnson will helm for Columbia Pictures.

Production begins next month in Los Angeles on the film, which also stars Samuel L Jackson.

The story centres on a crime lord who is taken out of Los Angeles and into federal custody by an LAPD Special Weapons and Tactics Team - led by Jackson's character.

But the plans are thrown into disarray when the international criminal offers 100 million dollars to anyone who can free him.

LL Cool J, aka James Todd Smith, will play Deke, a leading member of the LAPD team, which also includes Farrell.

The rapper next stars in action-thriller Mindhunters opposite Val Kilmer and Christian Slater and in romantic comedy Deliver Us From Eva.

He will also release his 10th album, entitled 10, next month.
