Farrell to Play Montgomery Clift?

Colin Farrell is currently portraying the sexually ambiguous Alexander The Great in Morocco - he has now also been linked to playing Hollywood legend Montgomery Clift, another ambiguous character...

Top Hollywood Director James Foley wants to bring the story of Hollywood icon Montgomery Clift to the big screen and he wants Colin Farrell to take the role.

Clift was one of the brightest leading men of the fifties but died in 1966 at just 45. During his career he was robbed of his handsome looks in a car smash and struggled with his sexual identity and drug addiction.

Farrell has more than a passing similarity to Montgomery and seems to have no problem playing roles of sexual ambivalent characters like Alexander the Great.

It could be a perfect match!
