Brosnan Defiant of his critics...

Tuesday's ShowBizIreland.com exclusive story about how the Irish Bond star Pierce Brosnan was set to marry his girlfriend Keely Shay Smith in the same castle that he spent many holidays with his late wife Cassandra Harris, has won world wide speculation.

Peoplenews.com (the on-line version of People magazine, one of the US's biggest publications) has followed up our story claiming that friends of Keely's are "not happy" about plans for the couple to wed in the same place Brosnan wooed his first wife.

In the meantime while Brosnan is waiting for a script for the next James Bond film, he will star in the action-adventure film Defiance. Brosnan will also produce the film in which he will play the leader of a renegade band of soldiers battling a totalitarian government.

He had been expected to star in the Renny Harlin-directed adaptation of Ray Bradbury's A Sound of Thunder - but the script is being rewritten, leaving a gap in his schedule.
