Gray Owl a new film starring the Irish actor and James Bond star Pierce Brosnan now looks set
to flop after Hollywood bosses refused to buy the film.
Richard Attenborough the maker of the movie which stars Brosnan as a Canadian trapper and
environmentalist has blasted Hollywood for not marketing the filming and getting it into
cinemas because it has not enough sex and violence.
The director and film maker said they snubbed the movie because there "was not enough
violence or sex."
Gray Owl is a romantic story starring Brosnan apparently Hollywood bosses would not market the
film to get into cinemas because it did not contain enough "pornography."
In America the 20 million dollar film has gone straight to video and it is due out in
Ireland over the next few weeks.
Attenborough said "No company has bought if for distribution. They say they don't know how to
sell it. It does not have sufficient scale. It does not have sufficient special effects and does
not demonstrate or illustrate either pornography of violence or sex."
Asked if he thought it would have got a deal if there had been more fighting sequences or more
explicit sex. Attenborough said "Oh, yes there's no question about that."
