Brosnan's co-star in The Tailor of Panama
Geoffrey Rush learned how to measure a client
for a suit, draw the pattern and cut the clot but
left the James Bond star stranded when it came
to driving.
As
the one thing he did not learn was how to drive a
car - which proved a problem for British director
John Boorman, because Rush's character had to
frequently drive a car in the spy thriller.
Boorman tells the story in the commentary on the just-released
DVD edition of the film, explaining that he had to
use doubles in some of Rush's driving scenes and have
the car towed in others.
