Bond's greatest foe: Marriage!!

He can escape the clutches of the Russian army, survive shark invested waters and defuse a nuclear bomb. But, getting married to his girlfriend Keely Shay Smith just seems to be causing Bond star Pierce Brosnan just to many problems.

Until now, word from Hollywood is that the wedding of the year is on and Ashford castle in Gong, Co Mayo is the still the location.

For those living on Mars the wedding was planned for last August but had to be called off due to Pierce's son Sean being involved in a car accident.

Speaking exclusively to ShowBizIreland.com from LA Pierce's publicist said "the wedding is still on and should be at the later half of the summer towards August/September."

On the film side of things Pierce's refusal to star in Basic Instinct 2 along with a number of Hollywood stars has resulted in the film now looking like it might have to be canceled.

Screen sex siren Sharon Stone is in danger of having the plug pulled on the strife-ridden sequel to Basic Instinct as she has now been turned down by some of the most famous actors in Hollywood, and still can't seem to find a good man.

Her original co-star, Michael Douglas, said no soon after his marriage to Catherine Zeta-Jones. Kurt Russell, Pierce Brosnan, Harrison Ford, Benjamin Bratt and even Robert Downey Jr have all been approached as possible co-stars and they've all turned down the offer.

Producers have been scrambling for two years to find someone, but rumours abound that they're ready to quit. It'll be one of the most expensive decisions they ever make - Stone has a 15 million-dollar deal in which she gets the money whether the picture gets made or not.

This latest crisis marks a continuing lean spell at the box-office for Stone. Her last three films, The Muse, Simpatico and Gloria, were not great successes.
