Confirmed: Brosnan's Wedding back on...

Irish actor Pierce Brosnan has confirmed the story ShowBizIreland.com reported last April. He will marry Keely Shay Smith on August 4th in a Church on the grounds of Ashford Castle.

ShowBizIreland.com investigated the actor’s love for Ashford Castle in County Mayo last April and learned that the luxury five star castle was the special place that he and his late wife Cassandra Harris spent many holidays in the early eighties.

Brosnan loved the castle so much that he even persuaded Hollywood directors to film one episode of his hit TV show Remington Steel there. We can reveal one exclusive picture of the 007 star posing with staff in the hotel during his visit while filming the show.

Speaking to ShowBizIreland.com at the time Brosnan’s LA publicist confirmed that the actor would marry this summer in Ashford Castle. "We still have plans for Pierce and Keely to marry in Ashford Castle this summer. That has always been the plan and Pierce still plans to marry their this summer."

Brosnan will not however be the first Hollywood star to make his mark in the tiny village of Cong and the home of Ashford Castle. Brosnan will follow in the footsteps of John Wayne and John Ford who made the castle and village world famous over fifty years ago when the made the Oscar winning film The Quiet Man there.
