Brosnan
books The Chieftains...
The world famous Irish trad group, The Chieftains
are to play at the wedding of Bond star,
Pierce Brosnan on August 4th in Mayo. Sources
close to the Navan born actor have exclusively confirmed
to ShowBizIreland.com that Brosnan has himself
booked the traditional band for his wedding reception
in Ashford Castle in Cong, County Mayo in two weeks
time.
The
source also confirmed reports that the actor secretly
jetted into Ireland last week to make final plans
for the wedding when he will marry his girlfriend
of seven years Keely Shay Smith.
The
actor flew into Galway from London last week after
seeing Madonna in concert to fine turn all
the details of the wedding. The event will be attended
by over 200 of the couples friends and family from
all over the world plus a host of Hollywood stars.
The
star has however sold all the photo rights of his
wedding to the UK glossy magazine Hello for
just less then one million pounds and security is
being flown in from the UK to ensure no other photographers
get in to steal the first shoot of the new Mr and
Mrs Brosnan.
The
five hundred year old castle holds a special place
in Brosnan’s heart. It was here both himself and his
late wife Cassandra Harris’s holidayed together
before her untimely death of cancer in 1990.
The
castle still holds pictures of the star on its wall
of fame The actor loves the idyllic castle so much
that he even convinced the producers of his TV show
Remington Steel to make a episode of the show
there in the mid eighties.
The
star was due to marry this time last year but was
forced to cancel the wedding only days before after
his son Sean was involved in a car crash. Forcing
the actor to fly back to America.
