U2
sends Oasis "back to the drawing board"...
Oasis singer Liam Gallagher has told
The Sun newspaper that the other Irish giants U2
and their current tour has set new standards for rock
and roll admitting: "I think Oasis will have to go
back to the drawing board."

Liam was speaking backstage at London's Earls Court
on Saturday night and in a rare moment of modesty
he confessed he'd been blown away by the Irish band.
U2's
Elevation tour - the biggest grossing tour
which earned each of the band £2,000 a minute told
the paper "This was one of the greatest performances
I've seen. Bono gives 129 per cent - it blew my head
off. I couldn't take my eyes off him. This sets the
standard for other bands. "
"It's
a different experience to Oasis but I've never seen
anything like it. It has made me look at things in
a different way. We're going to have to go back to
the drawing board and have a rethink. We've got some
gigs coming up and I know it's going to be hard to
top something like this."
Bono complimented his old mate Liam by dedicating
the encore of One to him who was there with
girlfriend Nicole Appleton. After
the monster gig Bono flew back to Dublin to be with
his terminally ill Dad Bob, who is dying from
cancer. He once
again, dedicated Kite to him on stage.
Bono
also sent his backing to the protesters at the recent
G8 summit. He said: "We don't need bullets and bombs.
We believe in peaceful protest. Civil disobedience
can work and we need to take this to the streets."
The band are now gearing up for the massive 80,000
Slane gig this Saturday in Ireland. And hopefully
we'll all be there to witness their greatest ever
show...
