The
Corrs to support U2 in Miami...
U2 are to be joined by fellow Irish super-group
The Corrs on the American leg of their world
tour which starts in Miami on Saturday night. Details
of the joint concert by two of Ireland’s biggest bands
leaked out over the weekend after The Corrs confirmed
they would be playing support for the first two concerts
of U2’s world tour which ends in Slane on August 25.
The
Corrs will open both shows in Miami after the deal
was signed over the weekend in New York after the
band played to a record audience in Radio City.
The Dundalk four piece have already sold over One
Million copies of their new album In Blue in
the states and supporting U2 in America is sure to
raise their profile even more in huge U2 market.
Speaking
to ShowBizIreland.com a spokesperson for The
Corrs said “We feel it is the beginning of something
new in America.”
Meanwhile
U2 are getting ready for Saturday’s concert with rehearsals
and sound checks.
