Bono
Accused of Insider Trading...
U2 frontman Bono has been accused of
"favouritism" by a British architect bidding
to design the tower that will house their new studio
in Dublin's Docklands.
The
Dublin Docklands Development Authority had put
an impartial panel together to judge submissions from
architects from around the globe for the building,
including U2 bass player Adam Clayton.
A British Architect, who is to submit designs for
the project, has accused Bono of having visited the
Californian studio of fellow competitor Frank Gehry
and discussed designs for the competition.
The
rules for submissions clearly state that they will
disqualify any entrant who "discloses his or
her identity or attempts to influence in any way the
decision of the jury."
A
spokesperson for U2 said Bono and Frank had a "long
standing friendship" but insisted this would
not influence the judgment of the panel.
