Confirmed: No U2 Dublin Gig!...

U2 have sadly confirmed that their is to be no intimate Dublin show. Unlike London, Paris and New York, the Irish band's home town will not get an intimate concert. Confirming that he did say he would know today if the band would play the gig Larry Mullen, told ShowBizIreland.com that it was the bands SLANE concert he was referring to at the Brits.

A spokesperson for Larry said last night "I've just been talking to him and he says that is was the Slane concert he was referring to when he said Dublin and that he would know today about the gig."

This has been confirmed by www.MCD.ie the Irish concert promoters hosting the bands biggest concert date of their tour which will take place on the August bank holiday weekend in Slane which is actually in County Meath, thirty miles outside Dublin?

The good news for today is that MCD will announce to the press today details later on of where fans can buy the 80,000 tickets for the summer show which is expected to sell out within hours.

The band kick off their show in Miami at the end of March.
