Bono
wants to Cruise to retirement...
Bono
and the U2 boys arrived home to Ireland this
week amid rumours that he wants the actor Tom Cruise
to take over the role as the main campaigner to clear
third world debt when he retires.
Irish
rockers U2 are also to headline this year's
Super Bowl and will be the centrepiece entertainment
planned for the game.
Their
performance is to be held top of the bill at the half-time
show at the finale of the American football season.
The
game will be held in the Louisiana Superdome in New
Orleans on February 3rd. It will be preceded by up
to four hours of rousing entertainment from as yet
unnamed US singers, who will sing the national anthem.
A
spokesman for Superbowl XXXVI said, "For the
half-time show we were looking for a band that would
help capture and lift the spirit of America and the
world. There will be patriotic themes woven throughout
the entire game and pre-game carried through to half-time."
